For 14 years I have been self-employed, helping people and organisations learn how to improve their performance and create a 'great place to work'. The skills of consulting, facilitating, coaching and training have all been applied and developed further as I have worked with a wide range of clients. In that time I have developed my interests in learning - what sparks it, creates it, promotes it and sustains it - finding inspiration in the methods outlined on this site.

Particular government sponsored initiatives have been helpful, like Investors in People and, more recently, Business Leaders, but most important has been the motivation of the organisations and the people who lead them who want to help their people thrive through creating a better working environment and equipping them with the skills to succeed.

This 'way of life' was chosen after developing a career in human resource management and experience as an employed consultant with a human resource consultancy and a quality management consultancy. This gave me a foundation in good consultancy practice and wide experience in project management, management skills, quality improvement and customer service. Most importantly, it gave me the experience of success and a realisation of how fragile that experience is for both organisations and people.
