who we are

our learning practices > coaching

A recent customer said that “Courses and books have taught me the ideas but they have not provided the discipline to carry them out in practice”. This is the role of coaching. It is process that is based on real attention to you, giving you the space to develop your ideas and to reflect on your experience.

Think about the coach as a ‘thinking partner’ who will provide support and challenge to your ideas. Another customer’s experience was that “My expectation was that Roger would look at my situation and come up with a magic solution…this was not the case…his approach was to let me work it out for myself, prompting me to identify issues and to think constructively about solutions”. It is a personal relationship based on a contract with ideas and action at its core.

Our focus is on performance coaching in the work context. The start is with an initial session to ensure that a coaching relationship can be established and be mutually beneficial. Normally, the relationship will be formed on an agreed number of meetings with a specific focus. Each session will probably be of 1.5 to 2 hours in length and will take place in a setting which allows for undisturbed time together.
